In 2024, we saw a broader spectrum of attacks emanating from a greater spread of threat actor groups. Ransomware remained the most prevalent incident type handled by Pinsent Masons’ cyber team and we saw a greater range of ransom demands, from $40,000 to $70 million, with only 25% of clients electing to pay. It is noteworthy that all clients who paid a ransom demand held cyber insurance.
